Richie Marso – Acoustic and electric guitars and lead vocals
Jamiel Allen – Keys and back-up vocals
John Winnicki – Bass
Janiah Allen – Drums and back-up vocals
Performing mostly original music, our mission is to groove!
Soul stirring vocals and guitar work wrapped around grooving rhythms and original compositions. Every song is made for dancing and grooving. The music of The Wildlife is influenced by Jazz, Motown, West African drum rhythms, B.B. king, Al Green, Michael Franti and Spearhead. Stevie wonder, Prince, Wooten. All the members of the band listen to and play a wide variety of music. They bring all that together to create a diverse soundscape for the nightlife of our time.
Richard Ursomarso. Leader and founder of the band. Guitar and lead vocals. Richard has been studying guitar for 20 years. He recently backed up the Emily Brass Band for two years. Richards guitar style is funky, bluesy and soulful. His vocals are pure growling soul, deep and powerful.
John Winniki. John is a jazz guitar man. He currently plays with the Sway Cats, the, Floyd Montgomery jazz project, and more. In The Wildlife he brings his skills to the bass guitar with a smooth groove based style.
Luke Thomas. One of the newest musicians on the local scene. Currently with the new band “Spoon Fight”. His guitar style is rooted in blues and rock yet his innate talent allows him to play many styles. He backs up The Wildlife with solid rhythm, original solos, and special effects.
Jake Thomas. Drummer and groovester. Also a new face up and coming and the drummer for “Spoon Fight”. Jake is versatile musician capable of playing the softest acoustic soul and stomping out funk and rock with an ear for arrangement and dynamics.
